General issue with Lotus Notes. ID files remain there until you clean up everything. A fresh reinstallation should work fine, but make the FP update before you configure the profile.
You can first try to install Notes 8.5.2 FP2, then upgrade to 8.5.3 and download incremental FPs from IBM website.
Also, make sure that you are not trying to install the Admin/Designer version when your installation as only Notes.
